Swimsuit Round

History

A swimsuit round, more commonly known as a bikini contest, is a beauty contest formed by J/aco/lyn where the R5, Elite Eight, contestants wear swimsuits. This is similar to irl beauty pageants, where one of the judging criteria is based on physical attractiveness. Ms. /co/ is known for attracting cheesecake pictures making this a foregone conclusion to most anons. The swimsuit round is done during R5, Round 5, because it is generally a badge of honor as it recognizes the Elite Eight.

However, it's inclusion has stirred up some controversy. It has only been officially recognized by a host in 2021, . /mlp/ users change the poll picture during this round but this has seemed impossible for the Ms. /co/ hosts. In Mr. /co/ 2021, the contestants wore suit and ties instead. Round 5 is also the point in the competition where a lot of anons withdraw from the competition, leaving less pictures of the theme round and OC overall. There is also a total of eight characters to draw in the same picture, so some OC requires more time to make. Anons might make swimsuit round pictures before this round, a gesture that is still mainly welcomed and loved.
