- Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.
Profile
Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is the main antagonist of Sega's Sonic the Hedeghog video game series. He is a self-proclaimed genius and megalomaniac human scientist with an amazing IQ of 300 and many talents, especially within the field of robotics. Unfortunately, however, instead of using his scientific power for peaceful ventures, the doctor constantly hatches plots to establish his Eggman Empire all across the earth and build his own ideal city, Eggmanland. For all his brilliance though, his arch-nemesis, Sonic the Hedgehog, and his friends constantly find a way to foil his plans and keep him at bay.
Though both are correct, he is most commonly referred to as Eggman when describing his video game appearances and Robotnik when describing his cartoon appearances. Some anons in /co/ have debated over whether or not "Robotnik" truly counts as a separate character from "Eggman" in regards to justifying his entry into the Mr. /co/lympus tournaments.
Tournament History
Mr. /co/lympus

Robotnik is a regular contestant at Mr. /co/lympus, having appeared in all editions to date, but has never advanced beyond the fourth round. He was entered into Mr. /co/lympus 2018 because of his appearances in the Archie Comics series, and in several animated shows such as Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (1993) and Sonic Boom (2014). As a result, he is grandfathered in the tournament despite his video game origins, while his archenemies such as Sonic and Tails cannot be entered.
The closest Robotnik came to achieving Elite Eight status was in Mr. /co/lympus 2023, where he was strongly backed by AoSTH and YTP enthusiasts with lots of vocal support and OC, granting him victory within the first three rounds. However due to a combination of Spongebob's campaign going into maximum overdrive and increasing distaste among some of the idea of a vidya originating character entering /co/'s Elite Eight (as had become contentious with Miss Pauling's 2021 run), he fell just short by 25 votes.
Robotnik went into Mr. /co/lympus 2024 in high spirits, with a respectable seed of 12 - his second best yet. He made quick work of Hellboy and Starscream, but had to bow out of the competition after narrowly losing to the 2023's Elite Eight returnee Squidward in the third round with just 15 votes. He returned once again in 2025, this time with plenty of tricks up his sleeves. Despite successfully distracting Yakko Warner with Scratch disguised as Hello Nurse, proving his own tech's superiority to Wile E. Coyote's last-century ACME junk, filling an entire container with liquid diarrhea, conducting massive gayops against his opponents with the Falseflag-o-Matic, and even running over Hank Hill's pickup truck with the Robotnik Express, Hank ultimately prevailed as the better man in the competition, and Robotnik once again had to end his run at round 3. Maybe tomorrow he'll win that race.

King of /v/
The mad scientist also competes in King of /v/. Compared to /co/lympus, he is a much stronger competitor in the /v/ contests. He first appeared in the inaugural 2019 edition, losing to Devil May Cry's Dante in round 3. Robotnik faced Dante again on round 4 of the 2020 contest, who became the #1 seed because of Devil May Cry 5 hype; despite his opponent's recency boost he very nearly pulled off a spectacular upset but fell short by 2 votes (one to tie and another to break it). Dante would go on to become that year's champion. In King of /v/ 2021, he had a remarkable run and finally advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in either tournament after defeating the top seed Doomguy. He ended up making it to the finals, but lost to The Batter from OFF.
Eggman would return with a vengeance in 2023. He became known and feared as one of the strongest candidates in the tournament due to being backed by many different supporters, most strikingly the same drawfag who shat out over 40 fully rendered drawings for Hex Maniac in Queen of /v/, combined with already being one of the most popular and beloved video game characters of all time. This would allow him to take out fellow 2021 Elite Eight member and enemy of schizos Morshu in round 1. He would go on to blow out Frog in round 2, and in round 3 would be challenged by Geralt unleashing his sameCHAD power, with Eggman ultimately prevailing with the help of Metal Sonic and Sage who would be recurring supporters in his campaign. Eggman would then be matched against Wario in round 4, a matchup that had been hyped up ever since round 1, which would prove to be his closest match in the tournament due to supporter overlap and Wario's campaigners pulling out all the stops. Eggman would prevail and combine much of Wario's energy with his own, aiding him in stomping Kazuma Kiryu just as he had done in 2021. In the Semi-Finals the Demi-fiend would muster together all his allies to challenge the mad scientist, but became yet another to fall before the might of the Eggman Empire. But just when it seemed like Eggman might finally break the dreaded runner-up curse he would become its greatest victim, as he lost yet again in the finals to RPG maker schizo Grimm in a cruel repeat of 2021.
During his absence in 2024 due to the Elite Eight rule, Shadow the Hedgehog, a fellow character from the Sonic series, was able to outpace him in claiming the title of King of /v/, which had major ramifications for the Doctor going forward.
Due to Shadow's victory, Eggman was subject to much discourse regarding whether or not he could win as, though undeniably one of if not the strongest performing character to have not outright won a King of /v/ tournament, the recency of Shadow's win was speculated to have a negative impact on the doctor's chances at scoring a good result, let alone winning. Despite this, Eggman eased some of these doubts by starting off strong with the #1 seed in the qualifiers. From this point Eggman gained a surprising status as an underdog due to the many meta "debuffs" stacked against him, such as the same-series winner curse due to Shadow sniping the Sonic series win, the 1st seed ironically making him an even bigger target to take down, being the only double runner-up across the four major tournaments, receiving support from a controversial campaigner and either a former runner-up or even Elite Eight member having yet to win a King of /v/ tournament as of that point.

This only encouraged Eggman's supporters to overcome the odds and claim a seemingly impossible victory, and with a dominant campaign presence fuelled by fanart and humorous posts in the threads Eggman scored massive victories over newcomer Viewtiful Joe and 2022 runner-up Jack Frost. He then was matched up against Captain Falcon, who had become something of a fan favorite that year, with tournament content creators depicting the two in an F-Zero race. Eggman prevailed and went on to a round 4 rematch against Demi-fiend, another notable spotlight match of the round; though it was much closer than in 2023 with only a three vote margin, Eggman secured his way to yet another Elite Eight appearance. Yet in a surprising outcome, the momentum from these two hyped up matches did not fuel the rest of the Doctor's run as he was eliminated in the Quarterfinals by Solid Snake, who somewhat fittingly for his status as the icon of the stealth game genre, had virtually no presence for the majority of the match. A popular running theory as to why Eggman's run ended here says that it was indeed too early for another Sonic character to win, and so while voters were happy to vote him over other characters, a fair chunk felt it wasn't the right time for Eggman's victory and thus began spitevoting him the closer he was to winning. In the end, Eggman claimed 8th place as his final score for the year, potentially due to a push to pair the mechanical mastermind with robo-waifu Aigis, the 8th place scorer in that year's Queen of /v/ tournament.
Some supporters of the Eggman Empire expressed their regret that Eggman had not bowed out slightly earlier as to avoid the Elite Eight hiatus so that he may return the following year when the odds were more in his favor, though others felt the extra year off might allow him to properly heal his meta wounds and that it was still worth the chance to go for the underdog victory anyways. Regardless, he would settle for a slight underperformance this year, which for a character as popular as Eggman means "merely" landing in the Top Eight.
Dr. Eggman is projected to make a return with his master plan in King of /v/ 2027.

Trivia
- An interesting phenomenon observed by anons in the video game-adjacent tournaments is that Eggman can seemingly only be defeated by contestants who would eventually become finalists or outright winners. While this is infamously demonstrated in the King of /v/ tournaments (Dante, Batter, and Grimm), the trend made its way into the side tournaments, with Eggman intriguingly losing to the winners of Co-op 2023 and 2024 in round 4. The only two runner-ups to beat Eggman in the /v/ tournaments but never win are Erika Furudo (Villains of /v/ and /cov/ 2024) and Captain Silver (/cov/).
- 2025 may have officially brought an end to it however, with him not being able to qualify for Co-op 2025, losing in Round 4 of /cov/ 2025 against Eddy and Wario, whom proceeded to immediately lose the next round, and losing in Quarterfinals of King 2025 against that contest's 4th place recipent, Solid Snake.
