Zim
Zim is the titular main protagonist of the Nickelodeon animated series Invader Zim. He is sent to Earth alongside his defective robot GIR on a secret mission to conquer the planet, although said mission is actually a banishment due to the disaster he brings to his homeworld brought by his sheer incompetence. Despite his over the top arrogance and boasting of greatness, Zim makes no progress on his "mission" and spends most episodes dicking around in unrelated schemes or getting in petty fights with his arch-nemesis Dib.
Tournament History[edit]
Zim first qualified in Mr. /co/lympus 2019, securing a 2nd place seed due to the advantage of the Invader Zim movie having been released a few months earlier. This caused Zim to be quite a hyped up candidate that year, as he had a large thread presence and supply of OC[1]. The first round saw Zim assassinate JFK, defeating him by a large margin. He had another decisive victory in round 2 against the sneedposter-backed Moe before scoring a closer victory in round 3 against Ed. Round 4 saw Zim go against Bugs Bunny, a matchup which inspired much shitflinging and OC involving Zim and Bugs engaging in a trap-off with both characters dressing in various girl's clothes. In the end Zim was defeated, being kept out of the Elite Eight by 53 votes.
Zim appeared again in Mr. /co/lympus 2020. Still a fairly popular candidate without the recent release of his movie, Zim seeded 12th and went up against Toonami's TOM in round 1, who he defeated. In round 2 he faced the dark horse candidate Hugh Neutron, being defeated by a 18 vote difference.
Zim would return once again in Mr. /co/lympus 2021, this time securing a slightly higher seed than last time. However, after defeating Lighting McQueen in the first round, Zim would once again fall to a surprising upset against the lower seeded Dan Backslide by a 23 vote difference. He seemed to have a more promising shot in 2022 after once again getting the 2nd seed and beating newcomer Pim by a large margin. Unfortunately, he would run into former Elite Eight member Dr. Doofenshmirtz and lose yet again, this time by by 44 votes. At this point, Zim's odds had begun to be tossed into question. While still clearly popular and getting consistently high seeds, it was beginning to look unsure if he would get another decent run on account of his recent losses.
Zim returned for his fifth tournament bout in Mr. /co/lympus 2023, and from the start he already seemed promising after scoring the #1 seed out of qualifiers. He won over Nick Wilde by a wide margin, but would soon face another imposing second round challenge in Wall-E. Despite the challenge, he managed to finally break this three year curse and advance. In a twist of irony, Zim's shot into the Elite Eight was determined by a rematch against Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Off voter momentum and a string of active campaigning, Zim would win out and make his Elite Eight debut. His quarter-finals opponent was coincidentally against fellow Nicktoon SpongeBob SquarePants, who he managed to edge out. Zim had a very close fight against the year's sleeper hit Optimus Prime that he won by 10 votes, before losing to the returning Skeletor in the finals. Despite his loss, Zim was generally considered a strong runner-up and was commended for his campaign during the year's tournament. To date, he is only the second Nickelodeon character to make it to the finals, and the first male character out of them.
Zim will next be eligible to compete in 2025.
