Frankie Foster

Frances "Frankie" Foster is a character from the 2004 Cartoon Network series Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. She is the caretaker at her grandmother's foster home for abandoned imaginary friends. Despite being overworked she is usually a friendly and easy-going person with somewhat of a big sister position among the home. Canonically she was born July 25, 1984 and is 22 years old in the show.

Frankie is a long-time staple among /co/ waifus, and both a universally regarded "powerhouse" and consistent top seed in tourney's. However, she's been arguably a major benefactor of the "silent majority" and is not particularly notable for having the most vocal fans until her winning year in 2024.

As winner of Ms. /co/ 2024, Frankie is ineligible from competing again.

Tournament history

Frankie's 2024 victory portrait

Frankie has competed across the six Ms. /co/ tournaments she's been eligible for. In 2018 she lost in the third round in a close match to the eventual winner Jenny XJ9. Frankie's run in 2019 was marked by a very dominant performance (notably beating both the finalists of the following year's Ms. /co/ in a row), a run which would come to an end when she faced the indomitable Spinel in a highly questioned semifinals. Frankie ultimately placed 3rd after winning against Shego in the consolation match.

The redhead returned as one of the most anticipated contestants in the advent of the 2021 contest and received the first overall seed, but was eventually eliminated by the controversial Johanna in the Sweet Sixteen round. This performance likely owed tot he years heavy strategic voting and the emergence of the "FARTS" acronym of which Frankie was the "F." Regardless, this loss would mark a lengthy drought for Frankie's overall success in following tournaments.

Foster returned for the 2022 contest losing in the controversial 3rd round to the eventual 4th place winner Nicole Watterson. Frankie's bid in the 2023 contest would see slightly better results ending with a 4th round defeat to the competition's eventual 5th place winner Harley Quinn.

Frankie's drought came to an end in 2024 where she saw amplified support due to a resurgence in OC and fan campaigning. A change many welcomed given the character's surprising lack of vocal support in previous runs. Frankie rejoined the Elite 8 upon defeating heavy hitter Starfire. She eventually emerged as the tournament champion defeating Jucika in the final round of voting. With this win the notorious "FARTS" acronym was retired and her arguably illegitimate block of a 2019 win was reconciled.

Frankie's victory was widely praised by many who saw her victory as a return to tradition and a redemption for the character while others found her win to be a boring and safe conclusion to the event. Frankie became the 2nd mainline Cartoon Network original character to win a Ms. /co/ tournament.

Frankie would return just a year later for the Ms. /co/ All-Stars tournament. She along with Jenny and Raven (who won the year following Frankie) were the expected top three and likeliest winners. This was proven quickly by all three ranking top seed far head of the rest of the past winners, Frankie herself being 3rd. In the first round she proceeded to beat 2023 champ Wuya in a stomp. The second round saw her finally match against Raven, in the faceoff denied them in 2019. True to expectations it was an extremely narrow match, with hosts claiming a neck and neck battle throughout the round. It would eventually come down to one vote in Frankie's favor, putting her in the finals and in a rematch against the inaugural champion Jenny. Amidst much fanfare Frankie would pull off yet another narrow win and become the first and perhaps only Ms. /co/ All-Stars champion, unequivocally sealing her status as one of, if not THE beloved and long-standing staple waifu and female star of /co/.
