Kim Pine

Kimberly "Kim" Pine is a major character from the Canadian graphic novel series Scott Pilgrim, created by Bryan Lee O'Malley. She is the drummer of the band Scott plays in, and is also one of his ex-girlfriends.

Tournament History

Standing head and shoulders above the rest of the Scott Pilgrim cast in terms of popularity in the /co/ board, Kim Pine is the series' primary competitor in Ms. /co/. She developed a reputation for punching above her weight seedings-wise in the 2018 contest, where she ended up reaching the round of 16 as a 56th seed. Her surprise run was claimed by some users to have been fueled by spite votes because of her wins against two Adventure Time princesses (Bubblegum & Flame) and an upset victory against the 9th seeded Hekapoo by 3 votes. She eventually fell to future Elite 8 member Chel.

Pine is also one of several three-digit seeds to make it into the third round in the 2020 contest, defeating GIFfany and Nani as a 103rd seed before losing to former Elite 8 Helen.

Ms. /co/ 2021 and 2022 were less kind to Kim, as she was eliminated in the first round in both editions. She managed a more favorable performance in Ms. /co/ 2023, scoring an easy victory against the Owl House jobber Luz Noceda and newcomer Emily the Corpse Bride before falling victim to Lois Lane's "FOTM"-fuelled run.

In Ms. /co/ 2024 Kim scored the biggest blowout of the tournament against the Family Guy gag character and Literally Who Award recipient Margaret [full name redacted] Onassis in the first round. She was also involved in one of the most notable matchups of the second round in a battle of Kim P vs Kim P, as she faced off with Kim Possible. Kim P was narrowly defeated by Kim P; with Kim Pine being the losing Kim P in question.

Besides her knack for performing above her seed, Kim also has the distinction of being in the ever-shrinking pool of characters who have qualified for every Ms. /co/ tournament.
