Gwenpool

Gwenpool is a character from Marvel comics. Formerly a lazy comics obsessed high-school dropout NEET (not unlike the average /co/mrade), she is transported from the real world to the fictional universe of her Marvel comics where she goes on to use her autistic comics knowledge and fourth-wall breaking abilities to get involved in various meta hijinks involving her favorite characters.
The positive reception of the early instalments of the series' quality and the character's traditionally cute and attractive design, especially by the standards of the comics of nu-Marvel, led her to become a popular waifu among the anons of /co/ as is reflected in her consistent presence in the Ms. /co/ tournaments.
Tournament History
Gwenpool is notable within Ms. /co/ for getting a large amount of OC, High Quality edits, and creating a new character called HenchGwen with various characters in Dr. Mrs. The Monarch suits. This suits her meta nature, as she is originally scared of dying due to irrelevance and she was a henchman for M.O.D.O.K. After her devastating match with Power Girl in Ms. /co/ 2020, Gwenpool narrowly survived death by becoming the henchman of Dr. Mrs. The Monarch. She came to also be known as Henchman 69, due to her seeding number in 2020 being 69.
The trend set in 2020 would continue into later tournaments, as Gwenpool is often depicted by campaigners in the artstyles of and/or cosplays related to her opponent. As of 2024, Gwenpool is one of the small pool of characters who have appeared in every Ms. /co/ tournament, and among the even smaller pool of comic characters to make such a feat.
Gwenpool made her most successful appearance, both performance and seed wise, in her debut in Ms. /co/ 2018. In subsequent years she has retained largely midcard results, though not without the consistent efforts of her fanbase to support her.
These efforts would pay off in Ms. /co/ 2024, in which much content was created for Gwenpool, including various drawings, comics, and even an animation in her fight against fellow comic character Wonder Woman. Gwenpool also became notable as a major benefactor of GETs, usually failing by 1 at first but then consistently scoring dubs and trips after being blessed by a Battler fag. The consistent support for Gwenpool in the threads resulted in her making it to round 4 for the first time since 2018; though she was defeated by handily by Queen Tyr'ahnee and denied a place in the Elite Eight her return to the fourth round has been seen as a great success by fans.
Gwenpool saw similar success in 2025 wherein, after taking out Lydia Deetz and Peni Parker, she was thrusted into a Marvel vs DC matchup against Raven. Though Gwenpool would lose this matchup, she would live on through Raven's run as Gwenfags rallied under the banner of their victorious opponent to push for Ms. /co/s first ever comics winner, a dream which was ultimately realized as Gwenpool found herself the backer of yet another Ms. /co/ winner, just like in 2020.
The momentum from the relative success of the last couple years continued in Ms. /co/ 2026; despite seeding lower than usual, the year started off strong with a win over Animaniacs furry Minerva Mink. Afterwards, to the surprise of many and in defiance of the large majority of bracket predictions, she would pull a massive upset in the second round against seed #3 and returning finalist Jucika by a gap of just five votes.
Fuelled by this upset victory, campaign efforts increased with the usual artwork, greentexts, and even one anon who storytimed Gwenpool's comic. This aided her in her victory against another furry candidate Kitty Katswell in the third round, followed by yet another furry, Sawyer from Cats Don't Dance. This caused her to gain a reputation as the tournament's "furry killer", and fittingly enough, upon her long awaited entry to the Elite Eight she would be matched up against Lola Bunny in the quarterfinals, who had similarly become known as the tournament's comics killer. In a duel between the furry slaying comics girl and the comics slaying furry girl, Gwenpool avenged her fallen comics /co/mrades by adding one last victory over the furries of that year.
In the final stretch Gwenpool engaged in a battle of fetishes against Totally Spies girl Sam, and very narrowly emerged victorious. Few could have expected that Gwenpool would have stood among that year's finalists, and yet the same could be said of her opponent Huntress Wizard, another strongly backed dark horse candidate who had been a vocal favorite throughout the rounds. In one last showdown between comics and cartoons, and between representatives of the 2010s, fans of the two put their all into this seemingly once in a lifetime chance for the chance at victory. At tourney's end, with a margin of just a couple dozen votes, pink triumphed over green.
With her victory, Gwenpool has not only scored another win for the comics half of the /co/ board, but also achieved one of the most purely comics-based wins possible to boot. Besides this, her victory also makes her the lowest seeded Ms. /co/ winner to date, as well as being the first to break the "same-series curse" by becoming the second Marvel winner alongside Spider-Man.[The last claim is disputed.]
Having participated in every tournament up until her victory, Gwenpool's perfect attendance streak has ended with her 2026 victory retiring her from all future Ms. /co/ contests.
