Dr. Mrs. The Monarch
Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, known as Dr. Girlfriend in the first two seasons, is a character from the 2003 Adult Swim series The Venture Bros. In the series she is the girlfriend and eventual wife of The Monarch. Mrs. Monarch is best known for her very low-pitched, male-sounding voice, which is provided by the singer / artist Eric "Doc" Hammer.
Tournament History
[edit | edit source]Mrs. Monarch competed in the first three Ms. /co/ tournaments, losing in the third round the first two years to notable powerhouses Chel and Frankie Foster. Her third performance in Ms. /co/ 2020 saw Mrs. Monarch smashing her competition until her first and only close match in the semifinals against the surprise powerhouse Fang, winning by a .5% margin, before going on to have a strong victory over Queen Tyr'ahnee in the finals and becoming the third Ms. /co/ champion. Her win was generally well received both at the time and over the years following, though has come to be seen as lagely attributable to the boost in support The Venture Bros. received after the announcement of its cancellation a little prior to the tournament. As a result she is sometimes considered a "pity" winner. As she has won Ms. /co/ in 2020, she is ineligible from competing in the tournament again.
Along with Kronk and Tom Cat, She was granted a position on the 4cc team for /co/.
Mrs. Monarch returned in the Ms. /co/ All-Stars tournament in 2025, seeding 4th and losing narrowly in the first round to 2021 champion Betty Boop. She proceeded to get an extremely dominant 5th place spot. Her peformance lined up with her general reputation as a mid-range winner that is relatively uncontroversial if debatably circumstantial in Ms. /co/ history.
