Skeletor

Skeletor is the main antagonist of Mattel's Masters of the Universe franchise, serving as the archenemy of He-Man. He is typically depicted as a blue-skinned humanoid who wears a purple hood over his bare-bone skull. Skeletor is determined to gain the powers of Castle Grayskull and rule the universe; however, the incompetence of his henchmen is always an impediment to achieving his ambitions. The epitome of a classic cheesy cartoon villain, Skeletor is often considered the breakout character from his franchise, particularly the original 1983 show He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
Skeletor has had a major presence throughout the history of the Mr. /co/lympus Tournaments. After a narrow loss against Courage in 2018, he would go on to have three Elite Eight runs in a row. The last of these would conclude in a victory, making him the sixth champion of the tournament. Many have considered Skeletor one of the strongest competitors in the history of the tournament, considering he's only lost three times to other Elite Eight members and ranked 5th at worst in every run since 2019. Outside this, he has become known in particular for his humorous posts throughout tournament runs.
Tournament History[edit]
2018[edit]
Skeletor made his debut in the inaugural Mr. /co/lympus tournament in 2018, narrowing missing out on enough votes to reach the top 10 seeds. He won against Moon Knight in an utter landslide, but lost to Courage the Cowardly Dog by a mere three votes. Courage himself would narrowly lose out on the initial Elite Eight following a single vote loss to the infamous runner-up Captain America.
2019[edit]
Skeletor would return in Mr. /co/lympus 2019 with a vengeance. After tearing his way through his first three matches, he encountered a potential roadblock in fellow villain the Joker. In a humorous reversal of fate, Skeletor would overcome his challenger by one mere vote to enter the tournament's second ever Elite Eight. Despite this victory, he would fall short against the year's dominant champion Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove. As a result of his efforts against Kronk, he would end up being granted 5th place above Bugs Bunny, Batman, and Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
2021[edit]
After sitting out 2020 due to the year-long ban from entering Elite Eight, Skeletor returned in Mr. /co/lympus 2021. He once again proved to be a powerhouse in the bracket, having landslide wins against nearly every single opponent on his way back to the Elite Eight. Despite his seemingly unstoppable power, his run was upset by Marvin the Martian's own huge sleeper run that year. He would once again be granted 5th place, the only character in a /co/ tournament to end in this ranking more than once.
2023[edit]
Skeletor would return for a fourth run in Mr. /co/lympus 2023. While not one of the most active campaigns, he still managed to garner vocal support throughout the tournament. One particularly memorable anon would contribute videos of Skeletor beating up his opponents within Garry's Mod. Skeletor ended up with a decently challenging set of match-ups this year due to the randomized brackets, yet still managed to work his way through the first four rounds once again without too much opposition. His match against Plankton was decently vocal, yet ironically ended up being his hardest win of the year. Skeletor would end up in the Elite Eight for a third time, simultaneously being one of the first men in Mr. /co/ to achieve this feat alongside Samurai Jack and Hank Hill.
After an easy defeat over Lord Farquaad, Skeletor would end up in a match against the legendary Jack. The outcome of this was uncertain considering both had been winning by huge margins throughout the tournament, yet in the end Skeletor would come out with the definitive win. His final match against Zim would similarly be a nail-biter from the outlook, with many wondering whether voters would opt for the more campaign-heavy newcomer Zim or the classic returning favorite. In the end, Skeletor would win out and become the first former Elite Eight member in Mr. /co/ to win on a later run. The vast majority of anons were satisfied with his victory and considered it a hallmark that he had managed to endure so long prior to winning.
Skeletor's victory marked several hallmarks. Beyond being the first returning Elite Eight in the tournament to win, he was also the third overall in any solo 4chan tournament following Fang and Midna, the first champion to have won after more than one Elite Eight prior appearance, the first winner of a solo /co/ tournament debuting in the 1980s, and the first winner from Mattel. As per the Jenny Rule, Skeletor is now retired from appearing in future Mr. /co/lympus outings.
