Duck (Don't Hug Me I'm Scared)
Duck, sometimes referred to by fans as Duck Guy, is a character from the British short web series Don't Hug Me I'm Scared and its later television adaptation on the British network Channel 4. In both series, he is the considered the most vein and sharp of the main trio, also consisting of the laid-back Red Guy and the seemingly naïve Yellow Guy. He also has a penchant for dying on multiple occasions. While arguably the least developed of the trio in the web series, he would later come into his own to become possibly the fan favorite after his expanded role in the television series.
Tournament History[edit]
Coming off the popularity of the television series debuting the prior month, Duck was able to acquire a surprisingly high debuting seed of #17 in Mr. /co/lympus 2022, making him the highest seeded newcomer of the year and putting him ahead of co-stars Red Guy and Yellow Guy. Many saw Duck as the strongest of the trio, and this was effectively proven after he was the only one to pass the second round. He ended up losing by a respectable percentage to Squidward Tentacles during the third round, with Squidward going on to make the Elite Eight afterwards. Duck was lauded for his proactive campaign and a solid amount of OC produced over the course of the tournament.
Duck qualified again in Mr. /co/lympus 2023, and though he no longer had the hype advantage of his show's recent release he was still able to comfortably land the 49th seed. He was matched up in round 1 against Murder Drones' Serial Designation N, another webtoon character with a dedicated cult following; due to the similarities of both characters and fanbase overlap this matchup generated a fair amount of hype and OC. Duck would emerge victorious and go on to face against YouTube Poop star Robotnik, however he was defeated in a blowout, the percentage gap of which shocked some anons as it was assumed Duck would have received a sizable voter increase from Murder Drones fans merging with DHMIS fans after the defeat of N.
