Wall-E

From 4chan Tournaments Wiki
(Redirected from WALL-E)

WALL-E[note 1] (stylized as WALL•E) is the titular protagonist of the 2008 Pixar computer-animated 3D movie of the same name. The movie follows the eponymous character, a strangely adorable, curious robot who compresses garbage into cubes, as he wanders a post-apocalyptic Earth wracked by excess and over-pollution. WALL-E lives in a large transport vehicle alongside his companion cockroach Hal. He has a knack for collecting various trinkets left behind by humans, which he stores in his home. One of these trinkets, a seedling on a boot found inside a locked vault, becomes a critical item in the movie's plot.

One day, WALL-E meets the sleek floating robot EVE and is enamored by her beauty. He manages to befriend the initially cold robot and takes her into his home. But when WALL-E shows EVE the seedling, she captures it and goes into standby mode, with no way to wake her up. As a rocketship arrives to pick EVE up, WALL-E decides to follow her into outer space and ends up at the cruise ship Axiom, where it's revealed that the remaining humans there, who have lived for centuries, have degenerated into obesity and have to rely on hovering chairs in order to move around.

The movie is lauded as one of the best Pixar films due to its environmentalist themes and endearing characters.

Tournament history

WALL-E is a popular /co/mpetitor because of his movie's acclaim and his unusual robotic traits. He first appeared in 2019, losing to Grunkle Stan in round 2.

The garbage bot returned in 2020 and emerged as a high-seeded contestant, having been supported by EVE's 5th place finish in last month's Miss /co/ntest. Although not prominently featured in that tournament's infamous role-play, WALL-E's run proved successful as he reached the Elite Eight, losing to Daffy Duck in the quarter-finals and then landing in 5th place like her.

After a year break for his Elite 8 run, Wall-E would return in 2022 with a 16th seed. Following a win against Uncle Ruckus, Wall-E would exit in Round 2 with an upset to Hades, with Round 2 exits becoming his regular results in future tournaments.

The bot would have his lowest seed to date in 2023 with a 58th seed. Wall-E would have a blow-out win against Hop-Pop in Round 1 before losing to finalist Zim.

With the 32nd seed in 2024, Wall-E would have a similar result, with a very narrow win against Fry leading to a round 2 loss to Elite 8 regular J. Jonah Jameson.

Wall-E would surprisingly not qualify for the 2025 edition, receiving only 63 of the 65 votes needed to qualify. Wall-E's unusual failure to qualify for this year was largely attributed to the hosts' error during qualifying regarding labeling characters owned by Disney under the Disney series name, leaving Wall-E to be placed under the Disney series instead of his usual Wall-E series (or even under Pixar) and leading most anons to not find him in the qualifier poll.

Wall-E will next be eligible in 2026
