The Two's a /co/mpany Tournament 2022 is the fourth edition of the all-genders /co/ duos competition, hosted on the plus4chan imageboard.
Let's just say it did not go very smoothly.
Although intended to be the 2022 edition the tournament was held in January of 2023 due to complications of hosting and scheduling. It was unclear for a while whether the tournament would even happen following the highly problematic Tag-Team Tournament in 2021.
The tournament was initially hosted on /co/ by the reprising TempAnon !vHqM1sfAlM. It was assumed that affirmation had been given for hosting the event on /co/ because of a post Psyanon made during Mr. /co/lypmus 2022 asking the mods if it was allowed back, to which they gave approval. Roughly 3 hours before nominations ended, janitors started pruning the threads, one thread getting sent to /trash/. Trying to figure out what to do and with some push by anons, TempAnon !vHqM1sfAlM decided to contact the mods where they told him all tournaments, including the /v/ ones, are off-topic and banned. They then proceeded to permaban TempAnon !vHqM1sfAlM from /co/. After this incident, TempAnon !vHqM1sfAlM quit and new hosts known as Coayynon !hJA5r5.WJw and Samaritanon !!0q4n9L7G/iU took over. It was decided Tag-Team Tournament 2022 would be hosted on /tnt/ like Tag-Team Tournament 2020 and Tag-Team Tournament 2021 prior. This was not the end of drama with the tournament.
Round 3 Results and Aftermath[edit]
Round 3's Results had a poor reaction with many anons feeling like teams that did very little campaigning and had no mention in the threads prior progressed while all the most vocal teams lost. One team in particular, The Plunderers, losing caused a massive upset as many anons hyped them up due to their prior roleplay presence and Zorak, a character often associated with The Plunderers, winning Mr. /co/lympus 2022. Many anons blamed /trash/ raiders from the /trash/ nomination thread for these results with their main evidence being furry teams progressing further than more favored teams in the threads, the votes being double last year's Tag-Team, and the fact /trash/ made a thread mocking Tag-Team for potentially killing all tournaments. These accusations would also have detractors telling the anons that were mad that they were entitled and arguments began over how much OC and campaigning should impact the results. All of this would cast a shadow over the rest of the tournament. The ultimate winners of this tournament, Goth Chicks, also stirred controversy with their consistent massive blowouts rarely seen in any /co/ tournament having them suspected of rigging. Some anons pointed out how they had the biggest blowout in a /co/ tournament Semi-final match-up yet by 13.7% and how Goth Chicks had a 71.3% blowout against The ЯENAgades! in Quarter-finals, a team that had an over 76% blowout just like Goth Chicks in the round that qualified both teams for Quarter-finals. It's important to note however that no rigging was actually confirmed and that the finale between Goth Chicks and The Couples from Another Universe was close.
