Spear
Spear is the male protagonist of Genndy Tartakovsky's award-winning animated series Primal. He is depicted in the story as a Neanderthal caveman who was struck by tragedy when his mate and children were eaten by a pack of red Tyrannosauridea dinosaurs, which causes him to contemplates suicide by jumping off a cliff, but overcomes the urge. Spear later encounters the same pack of predators attacking the nest of a green tyrannosaur named Fang. Although he tries to help protect the dinosaur's offspring, they are eaten anyway, but the pair managed to work together and kill the entire pack in revenge. With no family left, Spear and Fang decide to live together as hunting partners and companions, eventually forming a deep bond with each other.
Tournament History[edit]
Fang's memorable run in Ms. /co/ 2020 set expectations for Spear to perform well in his debut at Mr. /co/lympus that same year, especially because the second half of Primal's season 1 aired a few weeks before the contest started. He qualified at #6, the highest seeded guy in what some users dubbed the "bracket of death" because of the presence of two Elite 8 guys and several more top-16 finishers. Spear's run came to an early end after he lost to 2018 semi-finalist J. Jonah Jameson in round 3.
The caveman returned in 2021, securing the 13th seed and easily defeating Rigby afterwards. He then encountered the Monarch in the second round, whose wife was responsible for ending Fang's run last year. With his companion converted to Monarch's side, Spear soon followed suit, resulting in a second round loss.
He next appearance was in Mr. /co/lympus 2022, securing the 4th seed following the season 2 finale of Primal. He beat Sokka and Wile E. Coyote in round 1 and 2 respectively, then faced off against Mung Daal who would launch a shitflinging campaign against Spear, becoming much more literal when a pair of GETs forced Mung to eat Spear's caveman shit. Coming off this victory Spear was matched up against Max, but was defeated, with some anons having discussed fatigue of another Primal character entering the Elite Eight immediately after Fang's victory in Ms. /co/.
Spear appeared again in Mr. /co/lympus 2023, but would end up jobbing to Homer Simpson in the first round.
