/tnt/ - Tournaments & Events is a backup board created on plus4chan for hosting tournaments and other organized competitions, be it either events, contests, or anything where a winner must be determined through votes or otherwise. It also acts for general tournament discussion outside of what is usually seen as main tournament season (roughly September - December).

plus4chan does not archive threads because of its slow nature. Instead these threads are simply locked by the moderator. Just for this board, image duplicates are enabled and the bump limits are set extra high. Roleplaying is encouraged, unless event hosts ask otherwise.

History

The backup board was created by site moderator Black Hand in September of 2021 to discuss Ms. /co/ 2021. This was after it was briefly held on plus4chan after a thread deletion due to 4chan mods and janitors deeming the event as "Meta". Although Tag-Team Tournament 2020 was held on plus4chan the year prior the /tnt/ board did not officially exist yet.

When, like its precursor, Tag-Team Tournament 2021 was deleted from /co/ later that year, it was held entirely on /tnt/. Since then many more side and minor tournaments have been held on the board. Eventually /tnt/ appeared to grow beyond being a mere backup board, and a tourney sub-culture of sorts seemingly developed, becoming a large part and arguably central facilitator of "tourney meta." This has caused the board to be seen by some as a wholly separate entity from the main boards, though for the most part /tnt/ is seen as simply an extension of 4chan and the usual tourney regulars. It has maintained a moderately active pace since its creation, and has contributed significantly to tourney planning and organizing for the main site in addition to its own events.

On February 13th, 2024, the board reached its 100,000th post.
