Isaac Kleiner
Issac Kleiner is a character in the Half-Life series.
Working as a scientist in Black Mesa when the Resonance Cascade happened, Kleiner became more notable 20 years later as one of the heads of the City 17 Resistance against the Combine. Outside of Half-Life, Kleiner is also notorious among Garry's Mod players for his association with "mingebags"/noobs due to being the default model that is often unchanged by new players.
Tournament History[edit]
Kleiner's first and only appearance in King of /v/ so far has been in 2022, when after the Linkin Park Half-Life 2 AMV "In the Virtual End", blew up in the Half-Life community, he was voted into the tournament and managed to narrowly beat whitelisted candidate Mike Tyson in round 1. After this, a guy who has been nicknamed "Kleinerbro", started doing several pictures and videos in Garry's Mod of Kleiner abusing, dominating, and killing his opponents. During this time, Kleiner was also known as "Dr. ICHAD KLEINER", and "KING KLEINER". Unfortunately, Kleiner's run was cut short as he was a victim of the round 3 massacre and lost to Simon Belmont. His legacy lived on as Dark Kleiner, who insisted that in 2023, IT WILL BE HIM.
In 2023 Kleiner returned as the first character nominated and the 30th seed. He initially entered with a strong showing, being matched against the punching bag shitpost pick Icon of Sin who he would regularly humiliate with the help of Doomguy, and together they would lock the Icon of Sissies away in a Gay Baby Jail, resulting in Kleiner scoring one of the biggest blowouts of the round over his opponent. Kleiner also became associated with other scientists in the "N.E.W. World Order" group. In round 2 he started a marketing campaign against Pepsiman where he would direct candidates away from Pepsi and towards Kleiner Soda instead. However anons preferred the refreshing taste of Pepsi, causing Kleiner to go bankrupt and drop out of the main tournament in something of an upset as Kleiner was seen as having a strong campaigning presence whereas Pepsiman voters were still silent by that point.
To the shock of many anons, Kleiner failed to qualify in Half-Life 2's 20th anniversary year; seeding lower than usual, he was barred by the series limit due to being snubbed by the HL2 meme pick "Combine Officer Who Tells You To Pick Up That Can". Some have pointed to complaints over Kleiner's "out of character" campaign as a contributing factor in his lower seed, while it is also possible that the Canbine simply received a stronger push in the qualifiers, but whatever the reason he would sit this year out.
