| - Dante to his twin brother, Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening |
Dante is the protagonist of Capcom's Devil May Cry series. After the deaths of his parents, he took up work as a demon hunter in Redgrave City, taking on various jobs and leading him to fight the most powerful demons of hell and his brother.
Dante has grown into one of the most popular and iconic protagonists in gaming ever since his introduction. Because of this and the Devil May Cry series' status on /v/, he was chosen to be the champion of King of /v/ 2020.
Tournament History
Dante first appeared in 2019, where he won his first two matches against King from Tekken and Vulpes Inculta from Fallout: New Vegas by landslides and had a close match against Dr. Eggman in round 3 before losing to eventual runner-up Doomguy in round 4.
Dante returned in 2020 as the top seed, where he had a comfortable bracket fighting Lanky Kong from Donkey Kong in round 1, Ganon from The Legend of Zelda in round 2 and Pepsiman from Pepsiman in round 3 before facing off against Dr. Eggman again in round 4, beating the mad scientist again by a single vote and becoming Elite Eight. After beating Scout and Travis Touchdown, he made it to finals and won against Raiden by a good margin, becoming the second King of /v/. He would be paired up with Queen of /v/'s own winner, Reimu, a champion pairing that resulted in a lot of fanart pieces and many seem to enjoy to this day.
Due to him winning, Dante is permanently banned from all following tournaments, but it's not like that has stopped him from trying to rig Vergil out of the competition.
