Captain Falcon
Captain Falcon is the main character of the F-Zero series. Piloting the Blue Falcon, he is one of the best bounty hunters and F-Zero racers in the galaxy.
Tournament History[edit]
Captain Falcon is one of the only characters with a perfect attendance streak in the tournaments. Due to the popularity of the character in the Super Smash Bros. series, as well as the cult following of F-Zero, he is a generally liked character. Despite this, his early years were very uneventful. In King of /v/ 2019, he would eliminate Ken Masters quite easily before falling to JC Denton.
In 2020, Falcon would have his best run to date at seed 51. However, it would still be relatively quiet for him. After defeating the biggest jobber Banjo, the Engineer, and Sundowner, he would lose to runner-up Raiden in Round 4.
2021 would not fare much better for Captain Falcon in the 49th seed, as he would be even quieter now. After an easy match against Funky Kong, the powerhouse and finalist Eggman would take him down in a landslide victory.
Things majorly changed for the pilot in King of /v/ 2022, seeding 60th. After an uneventful win against Zagreus, Falcon proceeded to move to Round 2 against Gabriel from ULTRAKILL. At this point, people were openly calling out the character for being a silent majority pick that never does anything of note yet still stomps his opponents. Their fears would be realized and Gabriel would indeed lose by a large margin, causing even more vocal distaste for Falcon. He entered Round 3, where an anon decided to take this aspect of the character and twist it into his campaign, roleplaying as Captain Falcon hyping up an audience of silent members in various ways only to be met with the iconic "...". Although he would still lose to the hatred of AM, he had essentially caused everybody to completely shift their thoughts towards him. Captain Falcon's silent campaign would be fondly remembered as one of the more iconic parts of the tournament that year.
Despite this, King of /v/ 2023 would be a very unfortunate year for him. Although he finally had a campaign with vocal hype behind him for the first time and placed at an incredibly high 13th seed compared to his past years, Captain Falcon lost to Pepsiman by only six votes in the first round. He would keep going a few rounds in the Loser's Bracket before ultimately bowing out there as well. Ironically enough, Pepsiman was heavily criticized for being a silent character that year during the course of his run.
Captain Falcon will be able to return to the track and race for the crown again in King of /v/ 2024.
