Isaac Clarke
Isaac Clarke is the main character of the Dead Space series. Starting as an engineer who helps search the USG Ishimura to find his girlfriend Nicole, he ends up having to fend off the mutated undead Necromorphs that take over. The rest of the series focuses on Isaac's journey to fight the Necromorphs as well as the Marker, the alien artifact that started it all. A notable part of Isaac's character would be his hallucinations of Nicole, a trait which would eventually lead to being a part of Team Schizo.
Tournament History[edit]
If one word could describe Isaac's tournament presence, it would be suffering. Isaac would debut in King of /v/ 2020, at the 62nd seed. After defeating Frank West, he would promptly be eliminated by eventual runner-up Raiden in a landslide.
2021 saw a similar situation as Isaac qualified with a lower seed of 83. It would also see the debut of Team Schizo, which Isaac would become a part of from then on. Here, Isaac would defeat Jevil before being eliminated by eventual King and fellow schizo Batter in another heavy loss.
In King of /v/ 2022, Isaac would enter with his best seed thus far of 55. After defeating Demi-fiend and Brad Armstrong, he would find himself in the infamous Round 3 of 2022. Here, he would fall in another large loss against Engineer. This, like many results in Round 3, faced notable scrutiny due to Engineer's general silence and campaign consisting mainly of spamming the meme phrase "Engineer Gaming".
Isaac would have his best run yet in 2023. After overcoming Red Pikmin and Sans, he would have a particularily fitting matchup against Giygas in the third round with a decent amount of attention and OC put on it. Isaac would win, and then enter Round 4 for the first time where he was against eventual 7th place and notable silent favorite Kazuma Kiryu. Originally losing by a good margin, the infamous error of the Round 4 results would happen and upon being updated, it would turn out that he ultimately lost to Kiryu by only four votes. This loss led to a particular outrage among voters who complained about Kiryu's general silence compared to Isaac's dedicated and vocal support base, which would only be amplified by the small margin he lost by. Isaac would then eliminate Mario, Morshu and Alex YIIK in a four way free-for-all in the Loser's Bracket before being taken out by Wario, the runner-up of the bracket.
Will Isaac Clarke ever stop suffering? Only time will tell, starting with King of /v/ 2024.
