Muriel Bagge is one of the main characters featured in the Cartoon Network TV series Courage the Cowardly Dog, created by John R. Dilworth. She is an overweight elderly Scottish woman who adopted Courage when he was abandoned as a puppy. Muriel is a kind and hard-working person who likes doing household chores and sitting on her rocking chair with Courage in her lap. Due to her friendly personality, she is a prime target of the show's villains.
Muriel became famous in Ms. /co/ 2019 for being the tournament's #128 seed, putting her against the FOTM favorite Spinel on the first round. She gained substantial presence on that round's threads as anons rallied behind the elderly woman in order to take down the top-seeded gem as soon as possible, citing her personality traits as reasons for why they should vote for her. However, the effort ultimately failed as Muriel was defeated by 109 votes.
