Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn is a character appearing in media produced by DC Comics. She first appeared in the acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series as a one-off side-villain of the Joker but later received a recurring role in the series with her own fleshed out backstory as the psychologist Harleen Quinzel. Like the Joker she tends to be comical and joking in nature, though she is much less sadistic than her "puddin" and thus is sometimes portrayed in a more sympathetic antihero role and teamed up with a reluctant Batman. She is also notable for her friendship with fellow villainess Poison Ivy who she frequently collaborates with in crime.

She has since become a major part of the DC canon, having received starring roles in many comics, live action films, and even her own animated series, with many different depictions of her character since BTAS, with "classic harley" and "nu-harley" sometimes being seen as almost entirely different characters by diehard DC autists.

Tournament History

Harley would initially give a strong showing as a popular DC waifu in 2018, where she scored wide margined victories against Duchess and Enid, as well as defeating Daphne Blake and Gwenpool with relative ease. In the quarterfinals she was matched against the eventual inaugural champion Jenny XJ9 and was eliminated, placing 7th in the consolation vote.

After a year hiatus she returned in Ms. /co/ 2020, defeating Go-Go Tomago but losing to DTVA representative Anne Boonchuy. Her 2021 appearance saw another round 2 loss, this time against Lord Dominator.

Harley fared better than the last two years in 2022, defeating Gwen Tennyson and Peppermint Patty before bowing out to EVE in the third round.

Harley rose to prominence again in Ms. /co/ 2023, notably securing the 1st seed. This was in part due to the most defining part of her run that year: the unfortunate passing of her DCAU voice actress Arleen Sorkin just a month earlier. She would score a decisive victory against Total Drama's Gwen and SpongeBob's Karen, fellow DC supervillain Jinx, and the FARTS-cursed Frankie Foster. Having entered the Elite Eight she would become one of its more controversial picks as the already existing concern about her success coming from pityvoting stemming primarily from the aforementioned death of her voice actress became more hotly pressed, and though Harley did have vocal supporters rooting for her and a stream of fanart throughout the rounds, this would play a part in her defeat to Toph Beifong in the Quarterfinals. Nonetheless owing to the efforts of her supporters from that year's run, and in part from sympathy for the passing of Arleen Sorkin, she would score 5th place in the consolation vote.
