Ms. /co/ 2020 was the third edition of the annual Ms. /co/ntest and the fifth overall character tournament. The competition ran from September 11 to 21, and featured an unprecedented 1093 nominees -- a substantial increase compared to 2018's 154 girls and 2019's 359 girls.

A new host named stats anon !l0rbLHJjBY took over as the tournament's organizer after last year's shitshow. Measures were implemented to mitigate cheating and to prevent another newly-introduced Flavor of the Month girl from taking over the contest. These measures include forcing voters to enter a password related to 4chan culture, which will be rotated at random intervals; and instituting a "One-Month Old Clause" that bans characters debuting the month before the event.

The contest was characterized by a prolific increase in OC art from drawings to vocaroo recordings. The bracket itself was beholden to numerous surprises and dark horse runs, with multiple low-seed contestants scoring upsets as early as the first round.

The final match was contested by 21st seed Dr. Mrs. The Monarch from Venture Bros. and 10th seed Queen Tyr'ahnee from Duck Dodgers. It ended with Mrs. Monarch securing the championship over the Martian Queen with a vote tally of 450-352.

Nomination Rules

How to nominate?

  • To nominate a character, a user must include their name, picture, and source. All three characteristics must be present or it will be ignored.
  • Each valid nomination must garner at least eight (8) replies in order to qualify for the contest. These replies are only counted if they are all within a single thread, and do NOT carry over to other threads.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Must originate from /co/ media (Western cartoons and comics) or have a substantial amount of /co/ material
  • Puppets are allowed (ex. Sesame Street, Muppets)
  • Generalization Statute: When you vote for a character, you also vote for all of their alternative versions, adaptations, and spin-off appearances.
    • Example:       Zatanna (DC Comics, Young Justice, DC Super Hero Girls, etc.)


Restrictions

  • Characters that are clearly not /co/ are not allowed (ex. /a/nime, live-action /tv/ and films)
  • No talking colored horse shows
  • No Board-tans, OC Donut steels, and meme creations
  • One-Month Old Clause: Characters making their debut appearance from August 1, 2020 and earlier are ineligible.
  • Elite Eight Rule: Characters who reached the Elite Eight last year are not allowed to compete in this edition. They will be eligible for next year's contest.

  • Franchise Limit: For series with many female characters, only the top 5 girls with the highest votes in the qualifier poll can advance into the main bracket. However, there is no restriction on how many girls one can nominate from a single series.
    • Note: Franchise limit DOES NOT apply to Marvel and DC characters.
