Princess Peach, known originally as Princess Toadstool, is a character from Nintendo's Flagship Super Mario franchise. In many Mario games, Peach is typically a damsel-in-distress after being kidnapped by Bowser in his many, MANY plans to marry the princess & take over the Mushroom Kingdom, so it's up to the world-renowned Mario Brothers to defeat the koopa king and rescue the princess.

Profile

While Peach is best known for being quite possibly THE biggest damsel-in-distress of all time, the ruler of the mushroom kingdom has seen development beyond that prestigious title as early as the North American-only NES sequel Super Mario Bros. 2, where she was upgraded into her own playable character with the ability to use her skirt to float over long distances.

While she wouldn't see another role like this for a while, she'd eventually land bigger heroic gigs like in The Super Mario Bros Movie, where her role as Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom is molded into a more outgoing and aggressive role. One of her best, and arguably be her greatest, would be Super Princess Peach. In which the tables are turned and The Princess, with the help of her trusty new parasol "Perry" must save a captured Mario and Luigi from Bowser the exotic "Vibe Islands". Another much more recent example would take place in 2024's "Princess Peach: Showtime!", where Peach must defend the Sparkle Theater from new villains Grape and the Sour Bunch. Notably, this game includes no other characters from the Mario series besides her. Some smaller but also notable roles would be in Wonder, 3D World and some entries in the Paper Mario series, where she is playable due to the plot being about something other then Bowser wanting some royal pussy and a good role model for his Son.

While being kidnapped by giant Turtles and held captive until somebody rescues her will likely always be another average Thursday for Peach, it's not hard to argue that she's grown from her roots as a Helpless Princess good for nothing other than rescuing to a kind of hero in her own right. Able to keep up & fight alongside the very Knight in Shining Armor who's been rescuing her since 1985.

Milage will vary however in terms of how well that translates into performance for a basket-weaving Mongolian waifu tournament.
