Doctor Doom
Dr. Victor Von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom, is a major antagonist in comic books published by Marvel Comics and is most prominently featured in the Fantastic Four series as the titular team’s primary adversary. He is the reigning monarch of the technologically advanced country Latveria and aims to conquer the world owing to his belief that it is the only way for humanity to thrive. He was a college classmate of Reed Richards and harbored a lifelong grudge against him due to his superior intellect and his participation in a lab incident that left Doom’s face permanently scarred. Aside from the Fantastic Four, Doom has also crossed paths with other superheroes including Spider-Man and the Avengers.
Doctor Doom is hailed by many as one of the greatest villains in comic book history, owing to his extensive backstory, dominating personality, and prowess in both science and magic. As such, he is a frequent competitor in the Mr. /co/lympus Tournaments and claimed his first victory in the Villains of /co/ side tournament.

Mr. /co/lympus Edit
Doom was among the original 128 competitors in the first Mr. /co/lympus tournament in 2018, ranking as the 27th seed. He was able to beat DC Comics’ Martian Manhunter in the first round before narrowly losing to The Scotsman the round after.
In part due to the dwindling popularity of characters originating from comic books in the tournaments, it would take Doom three years to qualify again in 2021 as the 28th seed, notably a seed lower than his last run. He gave Jack Spicer his only round 1 loss before falling to Marvin the Martian in round 2. Doom returned in 2022 but immediately jobbed to kaiju superstar Godzilla. Doom once again qualified in 2023 and immediately defeated Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog before losing to Plankton by 6 votes.
Rumor has it that Doom’s continual early losses were the result of Doombots competing in his stead. It will be seen if the actual Doom can conquer Mr. /co/lympus 2024.
Villains of /co/ Edit
Doom’s most successful run in the tournaments thus far was in the Villains of /co/ side tournament where he qualified as the 2nd seed. Among his opponents leading up to the Elite Eight were Emperor Zurg, Elmer Fudd, Jafar, and fellow Marvel villain Thanos. He would then go on to beat tournament darkhorse Voltar from League of Super Evil in a grill-off and narrowly win against Lord Farquaad by two votes, thanks to a last-minute MUGEN OC where Doom faces off against Thelonious and Farquaad in battle. His final match pitted him against Ruber of The Plunderers fame, with Doom winning by 10 votes and cementing his place as /co/’s ultimate villain, with many anons agreeing that he was the perfect inaugural champion above all.
