Batman is a fictional superhero appearing in comic books published by American company DC Comics. His true identity is Bruce Wayne, a wealthy playboy and entrepreneur who resides in Gotham City. Batman roams the streets at night in an armoured bat-themed suit and fights criminals using his martial arts skills and a wide variety of tools and weapons such as the Batmobile, the Batarang, and the Batrope. Whenever Gotham needs him, he is summoned by way of a Bat-Signal that is cast into the night sky.
Tournament History
As a pop culture icon and one of the most popular comic book characters, Batman is expected to perform well in Mr. /co/lympus tournaments. He competed in the inaugural Mr. /co/ in 2018, where he lost to Hank Hill in the third round, denying him of a showdown with Superman in the process.
The Dark Knight dipped to a #51 seed in 2019, setting himself up for an (appropriately enough) dark horse run towards the Elite Eight. He pulled off a triple upset against Tom Cat, Popeye, and Gaston, before dying to Grim in the Quarter-finals and finishing 7th overall. Because of this, he was temporarily banned from the 2020 edition.
Batman would return once again in 2021, this times losing to Dale Gribble in Round 1 by a margin of 210 votes, an underwhelming performance coming from a previous Elite Eight member, but still in-line with the tournament's general antipathy towards capeshit comic characters in comparisson to cartoons.
The Dark Knight will be next eligible for Mr. /co/lympus 2022.
