Matias Torres
Captain Matias Torres is a major antagonist in Bandai Namco’s Ace Combat series, specifically the DLC missions of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. He is the captain of the submersible aviation cruiser Alicorn and was once a decorated war hero for the Erusean Navy, boasting an immeasurable combat record. Following an incident that left him stranded on the ocean floor for two years, Torres rebelled against Erusea and intends to end the Lighthouse War by executing a plan to attack Oured and kill one million lives in the process.
While he has yet to qualify for the King of /v/ tournaments, he is notable in the threads for his Vocaroo audio dramas and for running the Loser’s Salvation Bar where he supplies the losers of each round with a drink of their choice. Outside of King of /v/, he earned his first victory in the Villains of /v/ side tournament in 2023.

Villains of /v/[edit]
Torres’ most notable appearance in the tournaments occurred in Villains of /v/, where he qualified as the 64th seed. Despite possessing a middle seed, Torres cruised through his opponents with sizeable margins leading up to Erika Furudo in the finals. Additionally, he was able to beat his toughest match in the tournament with Kazuya Mishima from Tekken in round 4, who was the victor of the infamous “KKK Three-way” match a round prior (consisting of the aforementioned Kazuya, Karl Heisenberg, and Kane from Command & Conquer). His campaign is also notable for incorporating past opponents as crewmates of the Alicorn.
Following the tournament, anons on /tnt/ discovered a character by the name of "Matias Torres" from the Disney Channel animated series The Ghost and Molly McGee who shares a physical resemblance to the Ace Combat character in addition to having the same exact name. While this did little to affect Torres' chances of qualifying in King of /v/ proper, anons have joked that DTVA finally received a winner of their own despite not being a /co/ tournament.
