Filia and her trusty hairisite Samson are one of the playable characters in the game Skullgirls. She was the very first character made playable in a demo of Skullgirls when the game was being made, which would then evolve into her becoming the poster child for the IP (although other characters such as Marie, Parasoul, Valentine, Double, Peacock, and Painwheel all have more major roles than Filia herself.)

Filia was a typical teenage girl: Shallow, sassy, and a dash of smug until her life was flipped turned upside-down by an unruly mop of demonic hair with incredible power named Samson. Resulting in a unfortunate series of events that end with her gaining severe amnesia. With no memories or anyone to turn to for help, if she ever hopes to piece together her past and survive the inevitable clash with /v/'s favorite ladies, Filia will need to trust this mysterious scalp with unbelievable power.

Tournament History

While she may not have perfect attendance due to missing out on 2019, Filia has been a consistent presence since her debut in 2020. With a deathly combination of the game being decently well-liked on /v/ even after all this time and being tied with Girlfriend and Hex Maniac as being one of 4chan's favorite architect subjects, She's maintained a good stake in the competition.

Her first year would be a nice outing, as incredibly vocal anons frequently posting lustful pictures of the character would help her stomp her Egyptian opponent Anhka in the first round. She'd then go on to make quick work of someone who looked oddly similar to last year's winner before losing to Rosalina, which would upset some who wanted to see a "Hair Match" between Samson and Bayonetta's Infernal Demons (who also lost during Round 3). 2021 would be much less fortunate for the monstruous hairduo as they'd drop a couple seeds, silently beat Warioware's Mona and then lose to Touhou's Flandre Scarlet without much fanfare

In recent years, Filia has gotten a bit of a reputation for being a "low seed hero" due to constantly punching above her weight seed-wise at least once per Queen tournament. Her best example being 2022, where she, a bottom 8 seed, would beat opponents who were both several seeds higher and significantly more iconic then her like Hat Kid, Chun-Li and Princess Peach by razor thin margins. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to last as she would then be put in her place, read like a book and 3-stocked by quarterfinalist Ranni the Witch in Round 4. Some of this momentum would carry over to 2023 as the tubby tummy tyrant would sneak a win against the 27th seed Susie before losing to Neco Arc in the 2nd Round & Gardevoir in the loser's bracket.

It goes to show that even if her homegame isn't as favorited on the board as it once was due to really gay censorship, it's clear this skullgirl isn't going to just hand you a free win without a fight. Filia's battle for Elite 8dom will continue in 2024.
