GLaDOS

GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) is the main antagonist of the 2007 video game Portal and the deuteragonist of its 2011 sequel Portal 2. She's an artificial intelligence that oversees the test facility of Aperture Science, created after the uploaded conscience of Cave Johnson's partner, Caroline. While GLaDOS initially appears in the first game to simply be a voice that guides the player, her words and actions become increasingly malicious as she makes her intentions clear. She is apparently destroyed at the end of the first game but returns in the sequel, in which she is supplanted by her former intelligence dampener and temporarily stuck on a potato battery, while her past as the human Caroline is explored.

Tournament History

As Portal has received near universal acclaim both on /v/ and in the broader gaming sphere, of which the wit provided by GLaDOS's character has often been credited as playing a large part in, GLaDOS has proven herself a formidable candidate within the Queen of /v/ tournaments. This was shown in the inaugural tournament in which she won a series of matches up to the Elite Eight before being defeated by the winner Samus Aran and scoring 5th place in the consolation vote.

Her return year in 2021 started off strong with her placing in the #2 seed and BTFOing Overwatch's chubby chick Mei and scoring a respectable victory against Darkest Dungeon's Plague Doctor. She would fall to the eventual runner-up Madotsuki in the third round.

The Aperture Science overseer has seen her strongest showing in Queen of /v/ 2022, where she once again gained the second highest seed and, boosted further by a formidable stream of fanart and campaigning, dominated her matches up to the Elite Eight by large margins. She saw stronger competition there against Ashley, who she won a closer but still respectable victory over. She finally was defeated in the semi-finals by Hornet, but not before winning the bronze medal in the following consolation vote.

GLaDOS's return of 2024 saw a relatively successful run as, though not making it to her heights of 2022, she still proved a formidable opponent, taking out several hyped thread favorites like Muffet and Pixie. However her own thread presence was noted for being extremely quiet compared to her 2022 campaign and perhaps as a result, she would lose round 4 to Shantae.
