Death (DC)
Death is a character who appears in the comic books published by DC Comics. Debuting in the 1989 comic series The Sandman, Death is one of the "Endless", a primordial family of seven siblings that embody and perform various natural forces. In Death's case, she acts both as its personification, and as someone who guides recently deceased souls into the afterlife (psychopomp). Unlike typical depictions in various media, DC's Death is portrayed more sympathetically, with her "perky goth" appearance and personality giving off the impression that the end of life is not to be feared.
Death has become a classic example of a typical "obscure, top-tier waifu" contestant known for a small but vocal supporter base in the Ms. /co/ntests, yet performs poorly in the main brackets. Indeed, she has never won a match in her three appearances to date (2018, 2019, 2020), losing in the first round every time. She will be eligible for the upcoming 2021 contest.
