Death is a character who appears in the comic books published by DC. Debuting in the 1989 comic series The Sandman, Death is one of the "Endless", a primordial family of seven siblings that embody and perform various natural forces. In Death's case, she acts both as its personification and aspsychopomp, someoneorsomeone who guides recently deceased souls into the afterlife (psychopomp). Unlike typical depictions in various media, DC's Death is portrayed more sympathetically, with her "perky goth" appearance and friendly personality giving off the impression that the end of life is not to be feared.

Tournament History
Death has becomeis a classic example of a typicalan "obscure waifu" contestant known for having a small but vocal supporter base in the Ms. /co/ tournaments, yet performs poorly in the main brackets. She has never won a match in all of her three appearances to date (2018, 2019, 2020), losing in the first round every time. Death's attendance streak was broken in 2021 when she amassed only 50 qualifier votes, putting her at 322nd place. She appeared to have fallen out of favor with /co/ anons because the character was revealed to be portrayed by a black woman in the Netflix live-action Sandman adaption, which was yet to be released at that time. Her next eligible contest will be in Ms. /co/ 2022.

After three consecutive appearances dating back to 2018, Death's attendance streak was broken in 2021 when she amassed only 50 qualifier votes, putting her at 322nd place. She appeared to have fallen out of favor with /co/ anons because the character was revealed to be portrayed by a black woman in the Netflix live-action Sandman adaption, which was yet to be released at that time. However, these negative sentiments eventually died down, and in 2022 Death returned as a #108th seed, where she lost to eventual semifinalist Nicole Watterson.
