'''Toph Beifong''' is a character from Nickelodeon's ''Avatar'' franchise. She made her official debut in ''Avatar: The Last Airbender'' second season episode ''The Blind Bandit'', where she was introduced as a blind but talented earthbender fighting in an underground tournament. Recognizing her abilities, [[Aang]] convinces Toph to join his party as his earthbending teacher, but she initially refuses because of her overprotective parents. After the party visits the Beifong estate and enters conflict with the tournament's organizer and wrestlers, Toph decides to help Aang's party, and later joins the group. Toph later appears in the sequel show ''The Legend of Korra'' as an elderly woman and earthbending mentor to the [[Korra|titular character]].
