'''Spear''' is the male protagonist of Genndy Tartakovsky's award-winning animated series ''Primal''. He is depicted in the story as a ''Neanderthal'' caveman who was struck by tragedy when his mate and children were eaten by a pack of red ''Tyrannosauridea'' dinosaurs. Distraught, he contemplates suicide by jumping off a cliff, but overcomes the urge. Spear later encounters the same pack of predators attacking the nest of a green tyrannosaur named [[Fang]]. Although he tries to help protect the dinosaur's offspring, they are eaten anyway, but the pair managed to work together and kill the entire pack in revenge. With no family left, Spear and Fang decide to live together as hunting partners and companions, eventually forming a deep bond with each other.
