Tomoko Kuroki

Tomoko Kuroki is the protagonist of Nico Tanigawa's 2011 manga No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular! (私がモテないのはどう考えてもお前らが悪い!), with series name often shortened to simply Watamote. She is a disheveled loner otaku high school student with a markedly cynical disposition who struggles to find friends and fit in socially, leading to many awkward and humorous situations. Her unique anti-moe character take and "literally me" resonance with anons have given her an enduring legacy among 4ch/a/n and general weebdom.

Her known tourney history began with Playgirl of /trash/ 2025 where she was the best performing human pick among an otherwise furry dominant tourney. With notable campaigning she managed to reach Round 4 before being narrowly beaten by Hornet. The next year she appeared in Loli Goddess of /tnt/. Despite high seeding and hype she would surprisigly lose the first round to Jenny Wakeman, a character many think did not even belong in the tourney.

But Tomoko's tourney potential would finally get a full showing in Playgirl of /trash/ 2026 (nofurry), a porn tourney now split from the prior overwhelming furry presence. With some of the tourneys biggest campaigning and most avid coom posters she would make it all the way to finals in a fierce battle with Mirko before taking the crown to the positive reception of many. Her win would make her the first human porn tourney winner. This would also make her the fourth /a/ character to win a recorded 4chan tournament after Kenshiro, Griffith, and Konata Izumi, and the first to do so on the main site itself. The win also came at a somewhat fitting time as it happened mere months after Konata's tourney win; the two characters often being paired up thematically in fandom.
