Pixie
Pixie is a character from the Shin Megami Tensei series, appearing in nearly every game as well as in spin-offs such as Persona. One of the many demons that the protagonist can both encounter as an enemy and recruit to his/her side, the Pixie is easily one of the most popular demons in the series owing to her cute design, generally being depicted with a mischievous and bratty yet friendly personality, and being one of the most easily accessible demons for players to obtain early.
Pixie is especially associated with the Demi-fiend, as in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne if the Demi-fiend keeps the Pixie who joined his party during the tutorial, all the way to the endgame she will transform into an "Uber Pixie" with beefed out stats and skills. She is canonically shown to be the Demi-fiend's main companion, such as in Shin Megami Tensei V where she acts as his interpreter.
Tournament History[edit]
Pixie made her tournament debut in Queen of /v/ 2021, seeding 58th and being matched in the first round against the coompick Sorceress from Dragon's Crown. Though a campaign was launched for the Pixie, she ended up getting trapped in her opponent's massive rack and was defeated. For her efforts, Pixie was bestowed with the Literally Who Award by anons during the semi-finals, to which she was depicted indignantly accepting.
Returning in 2022, Pixie saw a little more success as her supporters pushed her to win her round one match against RPG Maker horror girl Ib, who coincidentally would herself become that year's Ms. Literally Who. She was matched up against the Hex Maniac trainer type from Pokémon in round two but suffered a rather large defeat. Outside of the Queen /v/ tournaments, Pixie is also regularly featured in the Demi-fiend's campaigns, for example being depicted in King of /v/ 2022 as his cheerleader.
Pixie appeared in 2023 with a dangerously low 115 seed; her first and only match would be against Malon, who in true Legend of Zelda fashion trapped her opponent in a jar, putting an end to the Pixie's series of pranks.
Pixie's big break came in Queen of /v/ 2024 where she was immediately matched against the 2022 runner-up Hornet. Though Pixie supporters had all but resigned to jobbing yet again in the first round due to the perceived strength of their opponent, to the shock of many anons Pixie actually defeated Hornet in her round one bout, with this upset victory being attributed to Hollow Knight fans becoming demoralized over the continued delays and silence for the development of Silksong, while others joked that Pixie won due to finally getting to fight someone her own size. Coming off the momentum from this surprise win and boosted by that year's Fairy Alliance, Pixie scored an even larger victory over Elden Ring superboss Malenia. Though anons theorycrafted the perfect Pixie builds to take down GLaDOS, she just barely fell short by an 8 vote margin and fell to the 2022 bronze medallist.
