Next 128 is a side tournament that focuses on the characters who ranked 129-256 in the qualifiers form.

Mr. Next 128
Alongside the returning two side events, another anon stepped up to hold a tournament focusing on the characters who ranked 129-256 in the qualifiers form. This tournament was the second of its kind, following another for Ms. /co/ 2024 held in the afterparty threads and on /tnt/. Despite some initial skepticism, this tournament started getting a surprisingly high amount of hype and attention by the end. This hit a peak during the final three rounds, with several characters like John Blacksad, Felix the Cat, and Snufkin getting extra attention. In the end, the tournament was won by Blacksad after a well-fought final match against Felix.
The host of this tournament has expressed that he might not want it to become a recurring event, pointing to some burnout over the amount of side tournaments held alongside Mr. /co/lympus this year as a prime reason. Despite this, he did leave a guide in case anyone wants to hold future tournaments in this style (such as for Queen and King of /v/).

Due to an unusually high amount of characters getting barred by the three per series limit, some of them were included in place of the lowest seeded contestants. The rivalry between two finalists of 2024's Barred - The Grox and Ichiro Dazai was considered the highlight, with both of them clashing in Round 4. After pulling off a very slim victory, Ichiro went on to win the entire contest, claiming a second side tournament Champion title to his name.
