The 8th edition of the annual Mr. /co/lympus tournament took place during October of 2025. All of the hosts from the previous iteration of the tournament returned aside from Cumanon. This event was expected to decide the eighth and final member of the first fabled "Elite Elite Eight" (as it has been repeatedly called) for Mr. /co/lympus.
In comparison to the similarly historic eighth iteration of Ms. /co/ the prior month, the Elite Eight of Mr. /co/lympus 2025 ended up being a more conventional ratio of five returning men and three newcomers to the quarterfinals. Among the returning included both Samurai Jack and Hank Hill in their fourth quarterfinalist or higher runs both following 2023, Daffy Duck in his third after 2020 and 2022, SpongeBob SquarePants in his second after also returning from 2023, and perhaps most interestingly Superman in easily his best run since 2018. Joining them were Eddy of Ed, Edd n Eddy fame, legendary Marvel villain Doctor Doom, and a surprise addition in the form of Disney's Goofy. The line-up as a whole was very well-received, being ranked as among the best to come out of Mr. /co/. The final four of Daffy, Eddy, Hank, and Superman was further praised, though the mood did surprisingly sour as the finals between Daffy and Superman rolled around. Despite this, Daffy Duck would end up mostly acclaimed as a winner after he defeated his final opponent by a fairly wide margin, even if some did see his victory as somewhat obvious. This outcome broke several records, most notably being both the first runner-up and first top seed champion of Mr. /co/. Many anons further saw it as both retiring one of the biggest recurring contestants and giving one of the most prominent franchises in the tournaments, Looney Tunes, a very due win.
Despite the results of the tournament being very well received, the tournament itself was seen in a less positive light primarily due to how much of its threads were permeated by both meta tournament discussion (a lot involving /v/'s off-board tournaments) and an unusually high amount of falseflagging. In particular, spite campaigns against usual tournament favorites Daffy and Hank were present throughout a majority of the main matches. This shift toward a more negative attitude was noted quite frequently among anons, and there was a fairly common sentiment that 2025 was potentially the first year where Ms. /co/ was a better event than its male counterpart. Despite the worse than usual reception, however, most didn't go the length of outright calling Mr. /co/lympus 2025 a bad tournament as much as it was somewhat of a disappointment. Time will tell if its successor will be more positive or not.
As with Ms. /co/ back in September 2025, an All-Stars tournament was held toward the end of October to decide the ranking and overall top man among the first eight winners of Mr. /co/lympus, including Daffy.
To nominate a character, a user must include their name, picture, and series in their post. Nominating 2 or more characters in a single post is not allowed.
All characters must either originate from /co/ media: Western animation and comics
Each valid nomination must garner at least twelve (12) replies in order to qualify for the contest. These replies are only counted if they are all within a single thread, and do NOT carry over to other threads.

Characters can be any age
Puppets are allowed (e.g. Muppets, Sesame Street)
Generalization Statute: Multiple versions of the same character --- be it from various adaptations, spin-off series, or alternative universes --- are combined into a single entrant. In other words, you are voting for the entire history of that character, not just one particular iteration.
Example: Zatanna (DC Comics, Young Justice, DC Super Hero Girls, etc.)
Character Limit: Each series can only have a maximum of three (3) males in the main bracket. These are decided by their votes in the qualifying poll. However, there is no restriction on the number of girls that can be nominated from a single series.
Exceptions: Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Disney core universe characters + related series (Mickey, Oswald, Goofy, and Donald), and Looney Tunes.
Any character that is clearly not /co/ is not allowed (e.g. /a/nime and live action shows)
/v/ideo game characters that did not originate from /co/ media are not allowed
Real-life politicians that are portrayed as cartoon characters / caricatures are not allowed, satirical or otherwise.
No /mlp/ characters
No Board-tans
No "OC donut steels"
No meme creations (e.g. Virgin vs Chad)
No inanimate objects that aren't treated as distinct characters in their media of origin (based on a vote in the 2022 feedback)
One-Month Old Clause: Any character debuting from the 1st of the previous month to the start date are ineligible.
Grandfather Clause: All characters who have previously made it into Ms. /co/ or Mr. /co/lympus tournaments, and are not banned by the Elite 8 rule, are eligible to participate regardless of the above restrictions. (Examples: Dr. Robotnik, Saxton Hale, JFK, Wendy's Mascot, Princess Zelda)
Elite Eight Rule: Characters appearing in the quarter-finals of the previous contest are not allowed to compete in this edition. They will be eligible for nomination next contest.
During qualifiers, voters were asked if Looney Tunes characters should be included as an exception to the Character Limit rule alongside DC, Marvel, and Disney core universe characters, to be effective immediately if voted in favor. Ultimately, the long-time debated and almost implemented rule change passed with 63% of voters in favor. A feared large influx of Looney Tunes characters did not occur, with the returning Daffy, Marvin, and Wile being joined by newcomers Porky Pig and Farmer Jim.
A controversy arose during qualifiers when hosts seemingly misinterpreted the Disney core universe character exception as a general Disney company exception, and changed the majority of series names for characters from the Disney company to simply (Disney) in the qualifier poll. This led to confusion during the round which was theorized to impact the results, including an unusually low seeding for Doof, Wall-E not qualifying, and Winnie the Pooh's Rabbit qualifying for the first time with a unusually high 19th seed. Some anons theorized that voters confused him with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who is usually listed under Disney. Later threads unearthed the discovery that Rabbit had actually had his votes mixed together with Oswald by the counting bot used to gather qualifier results, an error the hosts admitted was identified too late to change the bracket. This incident was titled as "Rabbitgate".
Lord Hater would fail to qualify for a tournament for a first time, possibly due to the confusion over the Disney label, leaving 10 characters who have qualified for every Mr /co/.
Two live-action DC characters, Shitpost Monkeys and CIA, were disqualified after receiving enough votes to qualify for not being eligible, being replaced with Brain from Animaniacs and Jake from Adventure Time as the final two qualified contestants.
