Having originally appared in a 1987 comic book series, the character has since been the subject of a graphic adventure video game developed by LucasArts, a television series, and a series of episodic adventure games developed by Telltale Games. Max is an anthropomorphic "hyperkinetic, three-foot rabbity thing". His appearance is generally cute and cuddly, but his personality is best described as reckless, impulsive, indulgent and destructive, being the source of much of the franchise's humor. Max enjoys extreme violence, and prefers to solve problems aggressively in contrast to his partner and friend [[Sam]].
