Max would return once more for [[Mr. /co/lympus 2022]]. Despite the usual expectations for him, he outperformed them and finally escaped the first round curse. While his first two rounds were not seen as too remarkable, he gained considerably more attention after taking down [[Dr. David Livesey\|Dr. Livesey]] in the third round. He sustained an even more spectacular victory against [[Spear]] from ''Primal,'' even with the show's finale having only aired weeks before the tournament. These victories led some to label Max as the "FotM (Flavor of the Month) Killer". His victory against Spear led him to finally make the [[Elite Eight]] for the first time, where he would finally lose to finalist [[Carl Brutananadilewski]].
