'''Marcy Wu''' is a major supporting character from the Disney Channel animated TV series ''Amphibia''. An intellectual-minded Chinese-American middle school student, Marcy was one of the three girls sent to the eponymous world via the Calamity Box, alongside her best friends [[Anne Boonchuy]] and [[Sasha Waybright]]. Unlike the latter two, Marcy is only shown a brief time in the show's first season. She made her official debut in the season 2 episode ''Marcy at the Gates'', where she is revealed to hold a position as "Chief Ranger" of the capital city Newtopia, and works directly under its monarch [[King Andrias]].
A member of ''Amphibia's'' main trio, Marcy made her first tournament appearance in [[Ms. /co/ 2020]], where she was seeded 13th but was spite-voted out of the first round by [[Ilana]], a "Genndy Girl" from ''Sym-Bionic Titan''. She made her return in the [[Ms. /co/ 2021|2021 contest]], and progressed to the second round by defeating [[Panini]] before being eliminated by cat MILF [[Nicole Watterson]]. In 2022, Marcy was seeded 31st, tied for votes with Sasha at 177. Just like the rest of the ''Amphibia'' characters, however, she got voted out in the first round when she faced Danny Phantom's ''Ember''.
Marcy became an early source of controversy during the early days of the 2022 tournament due to an attempt to nominate her villainous self, ''Darcy''. An argument could be made both for Darcy qualifying as a separate character (since it is merely Marcy's body possessed by an ancient hivemind), as well as for them not qualifying as a female character at all (due to the hivemind being made up of many different personalities, at least one of those male). Some anons also saw the possibility of getting away with sneaking what could be seen as two versions of the same character into the tournament as cheating on ''frogfags''' behalf. Although Darcy has gotten enough votes to be nominated, Fern avatarfag has decided against adding them this year. But as is often the case with characters without a defined gender, it is hard to come to a definitive conclusion, and Darcy might cause more future shit-flinging still.
