Marcy Wu: Difference between revisions

Marcy became ana earlyminor source of controversy during the early days of the 2022 tournament due to an attempt to nominate her villainous self, ''Darcy''. An argument could be made both for Darcy qualifying as a separate character (since it is merely Marcy's body possessed by an ancient hivemind), as well as for them not qualifying as a female character at all (due to the hivemind being made up of many different personalities, at least one of those male). Some anons also saw the possibility of getting away with sneaking what could be seen as two versions of the same character into the tournament as cheating on ''frogfags''' behalf. Although Darcy has gotten enough votes to be nominated, Fern avatarfag has decided against adding them this year. But as is often the case with characters without a defined gender, it is hard to come to a definitive conclusion, and Darcy might cause more future shit-flinging still.
