Heroes of /co/
| Heroes of /co/ | Gallery |
Heroes of /co/ is a side tournament that was held on the /tnt/ board on plus4chan. As implied by the board name in its title, this tournament pitted a selection of heroic characters primarily from cartoons and comic books against each other. The tournament was hosted solo by recurring host Samaritanon !!0q4n9L7G/iU.
The tournament's Elite Eight would include (in order of original debut) Popeye from Popeye, Superman from DC Comics, Daredevil from Marvel Comics, Optimus Prime from Transformers, Hank Hill from King of the Hill, Puss in Boots from Shrek, Shou Fu Kan from Thunderbolt Fantasy, and Mao Mao from Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart. The final round was between Mao Mao and Hank, with the latter taking the victory by 60.3% of the vote. Hank's victory marks the second time a previous runner-up would go on to win another tournament, following Queen Tyr'ahnee in Ms. /aco/ 2021. The consensus of the Elite Eight at the time of the tournament was mostly mixed, since a few anons expressed disappointment that characters like Puss and Popeye took out their more vocal opponents, although the reception of the two would become gradually warmer. Another point of contention was Shou Fu Kan's eligibility and placement which was made possible through the laxer rules of the /tnt/ tournaments, as anons argued that his Japanese-Taiwanese ties make him more of an /a/ representative despite an active campaign getting him to 5th place.
Heroes of /co/ was soon followed by a counterpart known as Villains of /co/ that ran through mid-to-late August.

245 successful nominees will be consolidated into a single massive group where voters select the characters that they want to advance. There is no restriction on how many guys they can select. This format is called Approval voting. After the round ends, 128 characters with the most votes will advance into the bracket. Ties are broken by whoever gets properly nominated earlier.
A maximum of 3 characters per series can enter the bracket.
