Guy Gagné
Guy Gagné is the main antagonist of the 2013 DreamWorks film Turbo, a movie about a snail who is gifted with superspeed. First presented as the titular character's hero and primary inspiration, he ends up showing his true ego to Turbo during a private encounter and almost cheats his way into winning against the turbo-charged snail. Of course, as one might expect, he ends up losing to the snail and likely had his reception greatly tarnished as a result of this incident. He made a later lesser-known appearance in an episode of the Netflix series Turbo FAST, where he tries to race like a snail and ends up being humiliated once again.

As a largely generic twist villain from a film that is often ranked lower amongst DreamWorks' catalog, Guy Gagné has not had much cultural mileage since Turbo was first released. Likely the best praise that has ever been thrown at him was that he did capture the attitudes of certain actual professional race car drivers very well, but that's a really easy comparison when your character is a rich and famous asshole. Despite his near-zero presence anywhere outside his movie of origin, he somehow ended up being nominated for Mr. /co/lympus 2024. He unsurprisingly did horrible during qualifiers with only 12 votes. This DID make him eligible to compete for Butler of /co/, but he ended up losing by two votes to Carl Foutley from As Told by Ginger. Ironically, Carl had actually gotten exactly two less votes during qualifiers, and he still beat Guy Gagné! To make it even worse for Guy, a duo of Taco Man & The Churro (two alter egos of Tito Lopez and his brother in Turbo used for a single gag) managed to surpass his run in the tournament and go on to make the top 16. His image was tainted further when it was brought up how it had taken three separate attempts for him to even be nominated in the first place. (Someone had also jokingly tried to nominate him FIVE different times during Ms. /co/ 2024, but these posts got next to no traction.)
Despite this embarrassing showing, this had already turned into some of the most presence that Guy had ever received on /co/ and mostly likely ever bar random YouTube commenters talking about how Turbo is the best movie ever made. There's barely any record of him ever being brought up on /co/ in the past, and some of the only pre-2024 posts mainly had people riffing on him as DreamWorks' worst twist villain to date. By the end of Mr. /co/ 2024, over 75% of his mentions on Desuarchive stemmed from the span of the tournament. Due to his lame portrayal in Turbo and his massive jobber, he morphed into a surprisingly prominent face throughout the event. Shitposts themed around him began growing in prominence during the last few rounds of the tournament, with a particular favorite from a Rorschach poster being reflected on by several anons as one of the funniest posts made during the tournament. During the finals, people began to pair and later ship him with Paul Rabin, a character from eventual champion Peter Parker's Amazing Spider-Man line of comics that has quickly become one of the most hated characters ever associated with Spider-Man. Some even speculated that the two might be one and the same!

Many reflected on Guy Gagné as one of the best jokes during the tournament, with some surprised just how pathetic everything ended up for him. He was nominated for /co/'s KWABOTY by the host of The Next 128 side tournament, but ended up as the runner-up to the anon who argued and failed spectacularly to have the Elite Eight rule repealed during the entirety of finals during Ms. /co/ 2024. Not everyone was impressed by Guy, however, with some finding the jokes around him to be forced or repetitive. Despite this, it's evident that Guy Gagné ended up leaving his mark in 2024 for better and for worse.
Guy Gagné will be eligible for nomination once again during Mr. /co/lympus 2025... but not like he's ever going to qualify. We should all laugh at him instead. He lost to a fucking snail!
