Grand Theft Auto Turbo Tournament was a practice side tournament intended to be held on the anonymous imageboard plus4chan's tnt forum. Likely in response to a previous blunder caused by inexperience, It was pitched and hosted by TempAnon !dR6QoT3xhI 1 day before that year's Queen of /v/ as a way to help get his feet wet in hosting contests proper and learn some fundamentals in tourney etiquette. The tournament would've been a heavily specialized fork of Queen of /v/ and King of /v/'s format, where it would've been made up entirely of characters originating from games made by the company Rockstar Games (specifically ones that were canon to the GTA universe) and nothing else. It was planned to feature only 8 characters, likely inspiring the addition of the "turbo" honorific to the tournament's name.

Well, that was a waste of time. At least it died peacefully and didn't lead to the creation of anything terrible enough to call into sanction if tournaments were even allowed on 4chan anymore. Now that would really be a problem!

Notes and Trivia

-Unless you were to completely disqualify tournaments that weren't hosted properly, The Grand Theft Auto Turbo Tournament would easily beat out SaiGar 2008 and THE KING OF /m/ as the title for most obscure tournament to ever exist. It's very likely we wouldn't even remember it's existence if one madlad didn't add it to the main page for some reason.
