Anne Boonchuy

Anne Boonchuy is the main protagonist of the 2019 Disney Channel animated series Amphibia. She is an adventurous Thai-American middle school student who finds a magical chest called the "Calamity Box" alongside her two best friends Sasha and Marcy. The chest transports them to the eponymous world which is inhabited by sentient amphibians. There, Anne befriends a young frog-person named Sprig Plantar and becomes a part of his family. Anne and the Plantar family set out to explore Amphibia, find her two best friends, and uncover the mystery behind the Calamity Box so that she may return to the human world.

Tournament History

Anne has appeared in five Ms. /co/ tournaments, every one since her character debut, and often as one of the most popular competitors due to the popularity of Amphibia on the /co/ board, with its fans being labeled as frogfags. However, she is also prone to being voted out because of the show's colorful history on the board; notable examples include the "tribe war" against Infinity Train and later The Owl House, and the lingering possibility of any of the show's main trio being revealed as lesbians (which ended up never officially happening).

The girl debuted in a fairly close first-round loss to Avatar's Mai in Ms. /co/ 2019. In the 2020 contest, Amphibia was much hyped on the board because two episodes of season 2 aired during the contest proper, resulting in the main trio securing very high seeds in the bracket. Anne was seeded 3rd and advanced into Round 3 by defeating DC girls Catwoman and former Elite Eight Harley Quinn, but was stopped by 30th seed Kim Possible. Anne then entered the 2021 contest with expectations of a better result, especially that the season 3 has been announced during that time. Possessing the bracket's 7th seed, she defeated Jinx and Tigress to reach the 3rd round again, but she lost heavily against "a fucking computer on wheels". In 2022 she returned again as a high seed (14) with high expectations. But, likely owing to Amphibia's increasingly tense relation with the board over the years and the behavior of some frogfags in the threads, Anne was out Round 1 after a match against Peppermint Patty. 2023 saw the cycle repeat, with Anne getting a high seed (14 again) and failing in the first round, this time perhaps due to an unlucky randomization, against the even higher seeded and noted F.A.R.T.S. girl Azula.

The 2024 tourney showed a glimmer of strength as Anne, after once more seeding in the top 15, narrowly passed the first round against Supergirl and showed a decent amount of support in threads, but was unfortunate to encounter long-time powerhouse Chel in the second round, where Anne sizably then lost.

Anne is a popular subject of many contest-related fanart; a notable example is Samurai Anne -- a Samurai Jack-themed comic series made by a known drawfag. 2023 also saw a high quality animation between her and Azula. A running fandom meme of Anne's "boobchuy's" are also a frequent point of OC.
