3-Player /v/ was a side tournament hosted on plus4chan's /tnt/ (Tournaments and Events) board. Much like the preceding Trios of /co/, this tournament pitted teams of three video game characters against one another.
Initially, Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, and Knuckles the Echidna were seen as the front-runners of this tournament. Owing to a strong Elite Eight lineup, however, the Sonic Heroes would prove to have their work cut out for them. Ultimately, the trio of Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi would prove victorious over the entire bracket, beating Crash Bandicoot, Coco Bandicoot, and Aku Aku in Finals by a considerable amount. In the same round, Sonic's trio would surmount Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf in a similar landslide, winning the Sonic Heroes 3rd place.
Rules
How to Nominate
- FOTM Clause: Characters who first appeared at the month before the start of this contest (June 12th and later) are banned.
- Character must appear in a video game (vidya).
- You must post the image, team name, characters AND the correct series name. (e.g. [I nominate] Link from Legend of Zelda, Master Chief from Halo, and Gordon Freeman from Half-Life as team "Example")
- 8 replies / (You)s are needed in a single thread to qualify as a nominee.
- Only one team can be nominated per post.
- Check the nomination list (Ctrl+F, click the "three vertical dots" icon, and enter character name) to see if your team has already been nominated.
Character / Series Eligibility
- Characters must be of /v/ media origin, or else grandfathered in a /v/ tournament or /v/ related tournament.
- All teams shall consist of 3 members, no more, no less. Teams do not have to be canon partners.
- One team is allowed per character. If a character is qualified in more than one team then highest seed in qualifiers determines the team that ends up in the final roster.
- Each series has a limit of three characters.
- Characters cannot be Board-Tans or OC Donut Steels. This restriction excludes characters who have already appeared in a /v/ or /v/ related tournament, as well as characters who originate from a fangame.
